Madeley Sixth Form Tops National League Tables for a Third Year Running

Fri, 02 Feb 2018

Madeley Academy’s Sixth Form has been named in the top 4% of Sixth Forms in the country following the publication of last week’s league tables. This is the third consecutive year of being in the top category and Jeanette Furlong, Senior Deputy Head says, “Our Sixth Form has gone from strength to strength in the seven years since it was set up. To be consistently within the top 4% nationally demonstrates the quality of education on offer to our students and this is reflected in the high proportion of students progressing onto top universities and our outcomes in both A Level and BTEC Level 3 courses”.

Ellie Fox, Deputy Head Girl says “the reason that I chose to come to Madeley Academy’s Sixth Form is because it is a friendly environment and the students are well-supported in their studies with staff offering lots of help outside lesson time. The in-house careers team has given me lots of guidance in applying to the very best universities and getting the best experiences to make my application standout”.

The national performance table’s 16-18 section, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-42366024, shows that Madeley Academy’s Sixth Form is leading the way by being the best performer in both Telford and Shropshire.
