Year 11 Headship Team

On 23^rd October, year 11 students had an end of half-term Awards Assembly. During this assembly, year 11 students were awarded with a great range of prizes for a number of different categories. These included a ‘Head of Year Recognition’ Award and Awards for uniform standards.

However, towards the end of the assembly a surprise announcement was made and the year 11 leadership team was named. In addition to having the traditional Head Boy and Head Girl, 2 Deputy Head Boys and girls alongside 2 Assistant Head Boys and Girls were announced. This is a new system adopted by the school as it mirrors the structure of the Academy’s very own senior leadership team.

Students on the leadership team were selected for their characteristics which make them not only a good role model for their peers in year 11, but also their ability to act as a role model for students in all years from 7 to 11. Students were also selected based off their qualities  ‘respectfulness’, ‘resilience’, and ‘responsibility’- of which forms out Academy’s values. Along with being judged on their high standards and voted by Academy staff, students were also encouraged to campaign for votes which proves their dedication to the role.
