Sensational Spoken Language Showcase

On Friday 5^th July, a group of year 10 students went to Thomas Telford UTC in Wolverhampton to participate in a Public Speaking Showcase across the family of schools in the Thomas Telford Multi-Academy Trust.

Schools that presented included Sandwell and Walsall Academies, Thomas Telford School and Thomas Telford UTC. Students spent the day listening to their fellow peers and engaged in their topics by asking questions. Most of the schools focused on literary topics such as poetry and a range of short stories, whereas students at Madeley discussed more personal and heartfelt topics. Some of the topics chosen included Cancer, Euthanasia, The Family Court System, Dementia, The impact of music on human nature and many more. It was great to integrate with other students across the family of schools and learn a lot about diverse topics and their experiences.

Students are looking forward to more opportunities to collaborate in the future.
