Wrekin Housing Bootcamp

Sixth Form students have recently taken part in the Wrekin Housing Boot Camp. As a team, they worked on a project creating a new café for the Shireliving Care Home. There were multiple aspects they had to think about such as the finance, different demographics (as this café is also needed to target the wider community), marketing, HR and how the café would look.

Georgia Lawton-Bond loved the experience saying:

I really enjoyed my time at Wrekin housing group as it’s helped me to improve multiple skills like team work, leadership and communication.

Sixth former Rebecca Higgins also enjoyed the boot camp saying:

Wrekin’s work experience programme was engaging and gave me the opportunity to learn skills in graphic design, accounting, marketing, and planning a project. I was able to build my confidence in public speaking, when presenting our work to the project team. Gill and Gemma supported me throughout and enabled me to refine my communication and teamwork skills, and logical thinking when considering the different tasks presented. I would absolutely recommend this programme. ’

If you are considering doing some work experience with them or joining the bootcamp, both students would definitely recommend you do so as they found they gained lots of insight on the different aspects on the real life running and creating of a business.
