Dementia Friends

Wed, 11 Mar 2020

Congratulations to year 12 students Mishal and Maimoona who completed their training to become ‘Dementia Friends’.

The training helped the students to understand that dementia is caused by a number of diseases that affect the brain. Both students are hoping to pursue a future career in medicine so the training helped them to understand how people living with dementia may experience symptoms such as memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. These changes are often small to start with, but for someone with dementia they have become severe enough to affect daily life.

Well done to both girls for taking part in the training and for wearing their ‘Dementia Friends’ badges with pride!
