Madeley celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Mon, 08 Feb 2021

National Apprenticeship Week 2021 has arrived! And although things may be a bit different this year with it being virtual, it’s still a huge celebration of apprentices and all the work they’ve done to help businesses adapt and build during a difficult past year.  Madeley Academy is joining in the celebrations by providing information and resources to students to help them find out more.

Case-studies of former Madeley students who are now successful apprentices are also being shared with students to help inspire and motivate them with their remote learning.  Kai Tranter, who left the Sixth Form last year spoke really positively about his Accountancy Apprenticeship:

“I decided to go through the apprenticeship scheme over university mainly due to the experience you are able to gain within a workplace.  After speaking to people in various companies I found that a lot of places rate experience as well as and sometimes even more than qualifications - within an apprenticeship you gain both. In the sector I wanted to go into (accounting), experience is vital due to the hands on knowledge you need to become successful. Additionally there are no tuition fees or loans needed to complete an apprenticeship scheme, so you can complete it debt free. Plus you earn a wage alongside working and studying towards your qualifications. Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity to gain a qualification, experience and earn a salary at the same time!”

Kai’s case study can be read in full here:

Madeley’s Careers Team are really keen for as many students as possible to get involved with National Apprenticeship week which runs from 8 to 14 February.  Check out the website below for further information about online talks and events or ask the Careers Team for advice careers@madeleyacademy.com
