3 County Athletes

Congratulations to Liam Onions, Beth Masefield and Jack Woodrow. These students from Madeley Academy represented Shropshire County Athletics at a meeting last night, 14^th July. The competition was held at Oakengates athletics stadium. The students won their events at the Yr 7 and 8 County Athletics meeting 3 week before, this allowed them to qualify to represent Shropshire. Liam Onions, Yr 8, won the Javelin event last night with a throw over just under 32 metres. Bethaney  Masefield came 2^nd in the 100m and then won the 200m sprint, 28.7 seconds. Jack Woodrow competed in the Discus, coming 3^rd overall with a throw of 18.62m. Very well done….
