Under 16 Boys Football Final

Congratulations to the Madeley Academy U16 boys football team on winning the County Presidents Plate competition at Ludlow Town FC last night. The lads were outstanding on the night winning a hard-fought game 3-0 against a tough Bishops Castle side. The score was 0-0 at half-time following a very tight first half where both sides found it difficult to break down the opposing defence. The second half however was a different story, with Joe Bullock opening the scoring with a neatly taken left –footed strike into the corner of the net. A second goal shortly followed, with Joshua Brown breaking through the Bishops Castle defence to fire Madeley into a 2 goal lead and the game was rounded off with the excellent Ross Fraser converting a penalty to give Madeley a convincing 3-0 win. Madeley were brilliant on the night and deserved champions – Well done to everyone involved.
